Welcome to the Clovelly Gig Club - a proud member of the Cornish Pilot Gig Association

Clovelly is a quaint cobbled fishing village on the North Devon coast overlooking the Bristol Channel with spectacular views of Bideford Bay and Lundy Island.

The club trains in the area around Clovelly Harbour and is fortunate to have access to an authentic true sea-rowing experience. Crews train all year round and has the privilege of rowing with resident dolphins and porpoises.

Clovelly Gig Club is the first pilot gig club to be established in North Devon; formed in 2001 by the son of the boat builder, Mark Cawsey.

Clovelly is the only local club to have two pilot gig boats built locally by Ford and Cawsey. Ford and Cawsey were based in nearby Appledore; a fishing village with a long tradition of boat building for North Devon.
